A renovated 19th century exterior belies the contemporary interior and high-tech facilities of the Hotel Gates am Kudamm; a four-story property, originally built in the 1870s, it is located on a quiet side street off the Kurfürstendamm in the center of Berlin. Smart, minimally decorated guestrooms feature PCs with flat screen monitors and unlimited complimentary high-speed Internet access. Hypo-allergenic bedding, satellite television, direct dial telephones, minibars, and desks complete the rooms.
Typically Berlin style breakfast is served in a breakfast room dating from 1957; the hotel's Pasta & Basta, located across the road, is a typical Italian trattoria serving fine Italian foods. The nearest airport is Berlin-Tegel airport, situated six kilometres distance. To get to the hotel, visitors can take bus X9 to Ernst- Reuter-Platz. From there the hotel is less than 500 metres. Taxis are also readily available outside the terminal.
