Hamburger Bahnhof Museum Berlin
Berlin's Hamburger Bahnhof Museum showcases contemporary art from the second half of the twentieth century to the present. Located in an old railway station that was built in the mid-1800's, the museum is one of the best showcases of contemporary art in Germany, if not Europe. The museum offers up over 8000 square meters of art space, and is wonderfully designed to show off its brilliant, provocative works.

Works that belong to Berlin's State Museums, as well as pieces belonging Erich Marx, a private Berlin collector, are on display here. The Marx Collection remains the starring attraction of the museum, and includes works by Cy Twombly, Roy Lichtenstein and Anselm Kiefer. Also included in the collection are over 450 drawings by artist Joseph Beuys, entitiled 'The Secret Block for a Secret Person in Ireland," which take up the entire ground floor of the museum's western wing along with other works. Probably the most outstanding part of this collection however is the exceptional paintings by Andy Warhol, around 60 in total.
